Algorithm

Once upon a time, there was a smart little girl named Nikki who loved pancakes. One morning, she wanted to make them all by herself.

But she didn’t know where to start! So her father gave her a magic recipe. It said:

1. Get one cup of flour. 
2. Add one egg. 
3. Pour in one cup of milk. 
4. Mix it all together. 
5. Pour it into a pan. 
6. Flip it when it bubbles. 
7. Eat your yummy pancake!

Nikki followed each step, one by one, and guess what? Her pancakes came out perfect!

Her father smiled and said, “You just followed an algorithm!”

“Algo-what?” Nikki giggled.

“An algorithm is just a list of steps that tells you exactly what to do to get something done,” he explained.

“Ohh,” said Nikki, munching her pancake. “So brushing my teeth has an algorithm too?”

“Yes!” he laughed. “Every time you follow steps to do something, that’s an algorithm!”

And from that day on, Nikki saw algorithms everywhere , even in bedtime routines and building LEGO castles.
